    So this week-end I started small wine tasting in the shop. We are very small, so I just opened a white and a red gave them out free. I have been meaning to do this for a couple of years now, a recent remodel gave us a few more square feet so we tried it. It was quite a hit, and fun too. I will do tasting every week end and tell you about them here!
    I opened a bottle of 1998 Hinman Rouge Valley Cabernet/ Merlot blend. This is a nice smooth Bordeaux mix of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 34% Cabernet Franc. Medium bodied, aromas of herbs, cherries, berries and rose. Well balanced.
    This wine tasted very well for the week-end, and sold out!
    The Rouge Valley is our southern most wine region, and produces some very nice wines. Foris Vineyards also makes a Bordeaux blend named "Foris Fly Over", in my opinion both are worth a try !
    For The white I opened an Amity Vineyards 2000 Willamette Valley Pinot Blanc. This is an interesting wine! On the first sip it is a good wine, on the second sip it is a fine wine. Dry crisp, goes with all the Chardonnay dishes, as well as the Riesling dishes. This young wine was a hit in the shop, and I think it will be a hit in general.
